Before Ketterdam, The Barrel and the Dregs, Kaz Brekker was Kaz Rietveld, a young boy living on a small farm near Lij. There, he lived with his brother Jordie Rietveld and his father. After a plough incident that resulted in his father's death, Jordie sold their farm and took Kaz to Ketterdam.
